Hi,

I was wondering if there is a guide anywhere that tells you how to qualify for medals and awards. I have over 2000 ground kills this month but nothing to show for it (because I die a lot I guess). I’d love to work towards some medals but don’t know how to.

That’s great, just what I was looking for! Google translate from Russian not perfect but I think I can work it out Are the medals being awarded properly though? For example I have 269 sorties this month but none of the Knights Cross medals. In July 2018 my performance was worse but I seem to have a lot more medals.

I can tell you only for VVS as i pay atention only on that side medals and when you get them:

 

20 Medals VVS:

 

-The "Guards" badge = given to pilots of top squadron by rankings points

 

-Hero of the Soviet Union = 5 air kills for fighter in one sortie or 2air kills and 10goun kills for bomber/ground attacker or streak of 15Air kills +15combat sorties for fighter or streak of 250gk+10CS for Bomber or streak of 50gk+5cs for GA

 

-Twice Hero of Soviet Union = 7AK in one sortie for Fighter or 3AK+10GK for B/GA in one sortie or streak 50AK for Fighter or streak of 450GK for Bomber or streak of 100gk for GA

 

-Three times Hero of the Soviet Union = top streek for fighter or top streek for bomber/GA ( you have to have also first 2 hero of soviet union to get this one )

 

-The order of Lenin = offic rank only (Lieutenant or higher) 4ak or 6tnk or 1ak+5gk+600pts or streek 10ak F or 150gk B or 40gk GA

 

-Order of Lenin 2nd  = offic rank only (Lieutenant or higher)  6AK in one sortie or 8Tanks in one sortie or 3AK+5GK+600pts in one sortie or streek of 20AK for Fighter or streak of 350GK for Bomber or streak of 75GK for GA type

 

-Order of Red Banner 1st = 50 combat sorties ( combat sortie is counted as one that ends with you geting points for it but not geting killed or disconected )

 

-Order of Red Banner 2nd = 100 combat sorties

 

-Order of Red Banner 3rd = 150 combat sorties

 

-Order of Red Banner 4th = 200 combat sorties

 

-Order of Red Banner 5th = 250 combat sorties

 

-Order of Glory I degree = destroy 3heavy tanks or 6medium tanks  or 8light tanks in one sortie (GA or Bomber only and only for NCO ranks , before you get to be Lieutenant )

 

-Order of Glory II degree = destroy 4 ships in one sortie (GA or B only, and NCO rank)

 

-Order of Glory III degree = 1ak+1gk in one sortie (GA or B only and NCO rank)

 

-Order of the Red Star = your side win mission and you have 3combat sorties and 1000pts in that mission

 

-Order of the Patriotic War II degree  = your side win 25 missions you played on and you atleast have one combat sortie on each mission

 

-Order of the Patriotic War I degree = your side win 50 missions you played on and you atleast have one combat sortie on each mission

 

-Medal "For Service in Battle" = streek of 10cs + 3000pts in virtual life

 

-Medal "For Victory over Germany" = participate in win on last month war and have 50 combat sorties in last month

 

-Medal of Honor = return heavy wonded or heavy damaged airplane to your base (60%+)

 

 

And ranks go like this for VVS:

Sergeant 

Snr. Sergeant = min of 3h of flight time needed and atleast 500 rank points

Sergeant Maj. =  6h + 500pts

Jnr. Lieutenant = 8h + 500pts

Lieutenant = 10h + 1000pts

Snr. Lieutenant = 12h +1000pts

Captain = 16h +5000pts

Major= 24h + 5000pts

Lt. Colonel = 32h + 10000pts

Colonel = 40h + 15000pts

Maj. General = 48h + 15000pts and have to be active and only 2-3 from your side get this ( not sure exactly how its decided who gets it and loses it, only rank you can lose)

 

and this is how you callculate ranking points

 

formula = (SD * SH * real points score) / 1000 = your ranking points

SD = your real points score (what you get on end of sortie) devided by amount of time you died or get captured  

SH = your real points score devided by flight time (example 75h30min is 75,5) 

 

so the more points you earn in shorter time you play, and the less time you get killed or captured, your ranking will be higher.

 

same is for squadrons, but its devided not by 1000 but by number of pilots, so if squadron has 8 pilots its devided by 8000 and so on...

 

if players have same rank, the one with bigger ranking points will be higher on the list

For highes ranks i check on months when there was 3 red players with that rank and i see that you can have only 3 players per side with that rank, and its dependent on favorit airplane type for players, 1 Maj. General for top bomber playr, 1 Maj. General for top ground attacker and 1 Maj. General for top fighter and guy with more ranking points will have 1st ranking

 

so total 6 players in one month can have highest rank, 3 per side, they all need to have minimal 48 flying time and min amount of points.

 If something is wrong yes i can. I finaly found old post regarding medal conditions and posted to guy who asked on WoL forum so he can see if hes doing something wrong and not getting medal because of that.
